Seed London
Builds synthetic "battle arenas", simulated environments that train autonomous defence systems and the AI guiding them against adaptive adversaries. Headquartered in London, with a base in Berlin.
Growth London
Builds modular lab-automation robotics with orchestration software to run experiments in life-sciences and diagnostics laboratories. Headquartered in London.
Pre-seed Northampton
A Northampton software and services company applying AI to operational automation. It connects AI with operational systems — support, workforce management, warehousing, ERP and analytics — to find operational friction and deploy governed, auditable automation, with human approvals and controlled system access built in. Its Avelo Discovery service diagnoses the problem and commercial case before automation; the Avelo One platform is the delivery layer.
Early-stage London
Builds a very large biological database by sampling genetic diversity from nature, then uses it to train generative foundation models for biology and drug discovery. Headquartered in London, with a laboratory in Boston.
Growth London
Builds an AI-powered talent platform that helps large organisations attract, manage, and retain employees, using a data model of skills and roles. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in London, with operations in the US, Germany, and Singapore.
Early-stage London
Builds systems-level software that sits between AI applications and the hardware they run on, breaking each workload into tasks and routing them to the model and chip best suited to the job to cut cost and energy. Founded by two Cambridge neuroscientists. Headquartered in London.
Growth London
Provides AI-driven financial-crime detection, screening, and anti-money-laundering compliance tools for banks and businesses. Headquartered in London.
Growth London
Builds autonomous robots and software that scan warehouses to create digital twins and generate inventory insights. Headquartered in London.
Early-stage London
Provides a platform for enterprises to deploy, manage, and scale open-source and custom AI models on their own infrastructure, reducing reliance on external AI providers. Formerly known as TitanML. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in London.
Acquired London
Applies AI to decision-making for enterprises and the public sector, including work with the NHS, government departments, and companies across other industries. Founded in 2014, with a research-heavy team, and known for its work on AI safety and evaluation. Headquartered in London.
Growth London
Runs a GPU cloud for training and running large AI models, offering on-demand access to Nvidia hardware both through a marketplace and via private-cloud infrastructure it operates directly. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in London.
Early-stage London
Builds in-memory-compute AI inference chips designed to speed up large-language-model inference and cut its cost. Headquartered in London.
Early-stage London
Builds decentralised infrastructure for training, verifying, and coordinating machine learning across distributed compute. Headquartered in London.
Acquired Bristol
Designs AI accelerator processors, its Intelligence Processing Units, and the systems and software that run machine-learning workloads on them. Headquartered in Bristol.
Seed Oxford
Develops 3D optical computing hardware to accelerate AI inference at lower energy cost. A University of Oxford spinout, headquartered in Oxford.
Early-stage London
Builds multi-agent AI "digital workers" (it calls them Mages) for procurement and supply-chain teams at large manufacturers. They turn fragmented data across ERP systems, spreadsheets and PDFs into decisions and actions — supplier selection, contract negotiation, order management and invoice processing — while keeping humans in control of key decisions. Headquartered in London.
Growth London
Builds AI-optimised data centres and GPU cloud infrastructure for AI, machine-learning and high-performance-computing workloads. Headquartered in London.
Early-stage London
Runs an AI-native GPU cloud, giving companies on-demand access to the latest Nvidia hardware for training and inference. Was the first provider to deploy Nvidia H200 GPUs in the UK, at Kao Data's Harlow campus. Headquartered in London.
Growth Manchester
Develops a decision-intelligence platform that helps businesses use AI for commercial decisions such as pricing, inventory, and demand forecasting. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Manchester, with further offices in the US and India.
Growth London
Turns fragmented enterprise data into a continuously updated, sovereign knowledge graph that security teams and AI agents can query for context — what it calls a security data fabric. Applied to cybersecurity, exposure management, and wider enterprise AI. Founded by GCHQ alumni and headquartered in London.
Seed London
Sells an AI platform for commercial risk and dispute resolution. Its OctaviaCore engine reads the data a live contract generates — emails, invoices, project trackers, supplier messages — to flag delivery risk and emerging disputes before a formal claim is filed, then coordinates the steps to resolve them. Aimed at defence, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing. Headquartered in London.
Growth London
Builds an NLP and machine-learning platform that analyses news, broadcast, regulatory and social data to track risk and reputation for large organisations. Headquartered in London.
Seed Cambridge
Builds an optimisation layer that sits in front of AI models, compressing the prompts and context sent to them to cut token and inference costs, and using reinforcement learning to tune model and context choices against business outcomes rather than just technical metrics. Headquartered in Cambridge.
Early-stage London
Builds an AI training-data and annotation platform called Darwin, alongside V7 Go, a document-automation product for extracting and processing data. Headquartered in London.
Early-stage London
Builds a sovereign infrastructure control layer that lets governments and enterprises govern how their AI systems and critical workloads communicate, access data, and run. Headquartered in London, serving enterprise and defence customers.
Magentic, a London startup founded by former OpenAI engineers, has raised a £13M Series A led by Felicis to build multi-agent "AI digital workers" that take on procurement and supply-chain grunt work for large manufacturers — with early customers said to include three of the world's ten biggest beverage companies.
Resolutiion, a London startup founded by a former Royal Air Force commercial lead, has raised £8M to build AI that reads the data a live contract throws off — emails, invoices, project trackers — to flag delivery risk and brewing disputes before a formal claim is filed, then coordinates fixing them. The round was led by LocalGlobe and Cherry Ventures.
Since we last wrote about Nscale, the two-year-old London AI-cloud company has signed a roughly $45B compute deal with Anthropic, doubled its contracted backlog to around $103B, and lined up a $3.5B pre-IPO round — anchored by NVIDIA — that would value it near $30B, twice its March price. Extraordinary momentum, and the same caveat as before.
Prevalent AI, a London company founded by GCHQ alumni, has raised its first outside capital — a $22M (about £16M) growth round led by Integrity Growth Partners — nine years after it started and while already profitable. It sells a "data fabric" that turns messy enterprise data into a knowledge graph for security teams and AI agents.
Cambridge startup Sqwish has raised around £1.7M in seed funding for software that sits in front of AI models and compresses the prompts sent to them, cutting the cost of every call. It is a token-level take on the same problem this week's Callosum round tackles at the chip level.
Callosum, a London company whose software routes each part of an AI workload to the model and chip best suited to it, has raised $100M, about £79M, in one of the largest seed rounds ever in Europe. It was led by Atomico, with Plural, DCVC, and the UK's Sovereign AI fund taking part.
